Swami Vivekananda College of Education started its Teacher Training Department in 2012 and recently celebrated its centenary year. The Bachelor of Education Department offers a one-year B.Ed course, affiliated to WBBPE. The B.Ed. Degree qualifies teachers for secondary and higher secondary school work. The B.Ed. Department
was recognized by the NCTE (National Council of Teacher Education) in 2012. The main objective of the Department is to train competent and dedicated teachers equipped with skills required for effective teaching-learning; to help trainees achieve professional standards of work; to foster artistic, analytical and creative skills; to encourage personal growth and inculcation of moral and spiritual values and to develop in them a sense of responsibility, love and understanding for pupils.
